US-based snacks company Hostess Brands is launching new cakes to cater to customers’ sweet tooth this holiday season.
Hostess is introducing Peppermint Ho Hos, which is a layer of chocolate cake rolled with a creamy peppermint-flavored filling.
Additionally, Hostess is launching festive Holiday Cupcakes at grocery stores across the nation.
The holiday-themed food items follow the earlier launches which include Pumpkin Spice Twinkies and Maple Glazed Donettes.
Hostess Brands vice president of marketing Ellen Copaken said: "We are thrilled to offer Hostess fans - for the first time ever - a fresh, season-appropriate take on the classic Ho Hos. With our range of holiday treats, we continue to expand the breadth of flavors we incorporate into our products, and innovate on recipes that have proven to be timeless classics. These exciting new flavors tailored to the season are sure to be holiday hits."
In May, Hostess Brands introduced Sea Salt Caramel flavored cupcakes and zingers. Each Sea Salt Caramel cupcake includes golden yellow cake with caramel creme filling, iced with sweet caramel frosting and topped with The Original Squiggle, the company claims.
The Sea Salt Caramel zingers feature Hostess' signature creme filling, topped with a rich caramel and covered in a layer of chocolate.
More recently, the company expressed plans of venturing into bread and buns category with an aim to offer one-stop shopping for convenience and discount stores. It is also contemplating addition of other new baked products such as brownies.
