Canada based automotive installer Ground Effects will invest $3.4m to establish a new spray-in bed liners facility in Roanoke, US.
The 40,000sqft facility located at Aboite Road in Roanoke is scheduled to be operational by December 2013, following which it will deliver bed liners and other automotive accessories for General Motors plant in the region.
Ground Effects president Jim Scott said the application techniques of spray-in bed liners developed by the company for GM will offer consumers a product that complements the new Indiana-built Sierra and Silverado products.
"This facility will allow General Motors to provide automotive accessories at the factory level instead of shipping out of state or installing at the aftermarket level, which is a huge benefit to Allen County-the home of both light and heavy duty truck manufacturing," Scott added.
With the new facility, the company plans to install 20,000 bed liners per annum, while the full production is expected to reach 50,000 units annually.
