Taiwan-based TV brand Chimei has been expanding product lines in recent years including LED desk lamps,electric fans and air purifiers.According to the firm,its annual shipment target for LED desk lamps is 40,000 units.The firm also indicated plans to enter the market of small-size household appliances as early as the fourth quarter of 2012.
According to Max Yu,Chimei's senior director of Greater China Group Business Unit,in first-half 2012,Chimei's LED desk lamps had a market share of 30%in Taiwan,a sales total of 20,000 units.The total sales are expected to hit 40,000 units.Chimei is also aiming to expand businesses in overseas market such as Japan.
Chimei hopes to develop products such as LED home lighting,such as chandeliers.
Chimei has denied rumors of it exiting the LCD display market.
