Kongsberg Automotive (KA) has received two contracts worth EUR10.4m to supply lumbar support systems and seat actuation cables for an American and a Japanese OEM respectively.
The contracts are for a five-year model lifetime of two cars in the North American market.
The company said that for both contracts it will supply the systems via a so called Tier 1 system supplier that builds the car interior for the OEMs.
Kongsberg Automotive executive vice president for interior Scott Paquette said, "Both these customers are very important to us, as they not only have high selling models in the North American market, but also hold strong global positions and hence represent a global growth potential for us."
The first contract is for pneumatic lumbar support systems, which have low weight and good functionality, for a US-based car.
The second contract is for seat actuation cables for a Japanese mid-size luxury crossover SUV.
Production of both vehicles is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2013, and production is planned for the Reynosa and Matamoros facilities in Mexico.
