Johnson & Johnson has launched a new Innovation center in London to serve as European hub and accelerate innovation across the healthcare landscape.
The London Innovation center is part of Johnson & Johnson Innovation, a division of Johnson & Johnson Finance Corporation.
It will be capable of making local deals, enabling scientists, entrepreneurs and budding companies to collaborate with science and technology experts.
Johnson & Johnson chief scientific officer and pharmaceuticals worldwide chairman Paul Stoffels said the London Innovation center is a part of the company's strategy to facilitate collaboration of scientists and entrepreneurs to progress human health.
"We are looking forward to collaborating within the UK, home to one of the world's thriving life sciences ecosystems," Stoffels added.
The company is also considering to open similar facilities in Boston, San Francisco and Shanghai in the coming months.
Johnson & Johnson Innovation center in London head Patrick Verheyen said, "Our on-the-ground proximity to regional scientists and entrepreneurs will allow us to build the strong personal relationships that underlie the most successful collaborations and investment deals."
