Brad O'Brien, most recently general manager at retail operations for Retravision Southern Limited, has been appointed chief executive officer of Office Choice.
O'Brien, who succeeds long-standing general manager Max Ritchie, held previous positions as general manager of Clark Rubber and software publishing and distribution company Dataworks Australia.
O'Brien spent five years at Retravision Southern, which was placed into voluntary administration earlier this year, reportedly a casualty of the sustained downturn in the consumer electronics market.
O'Brien told Stationery News that his immediate priority is to work with the Office Choice board on a strategic plan, which will be presented at the group's annual general meeting and conference in Cairns next month.
Office Choice chairman Ian Jones said O'Brien would bring "vast knowledge and experience to the role. I am thrilled to have a leader of this calibre and experience join the group and we warmly welcome him to Office Choice."
"Brad arrives at an exciting time for the group, as we are currently embarking on our new strategic plan to lead us forward. I strongly believe that under his leadership, the group will continue its success into the future," Jones said.
Office Choice, founded in 1983, has a network of more than 150 locations around Australia and accounts for more than $270 million in end-user sales.
