B&G Foods has acquired snack brand Rickland Orchards, a Greek yogurt coated granola bars and bites producer, from Natural Instincts for $57.5m.
This development marks B&G Foods' fourth acquisition since October 2012.
Rickland Orchards has its presence across the club, retail, mass and convenience channels and its products are available in over 15,000 locations in North America.
Rickland Orchards founder and CEO Jason Cohen is joining B&G Foods as executive vice president of Club Channel and will look after B&G Foods' club channel sales, while Rickland Orchards COO Michael Sands is named as Product Innovation vice president.
B&G Foods president and CEO David Wenner said, "Combining the talents of Jason and Michael with B&G Foods' existing strong management team and sales force will benefit both Rickland Orchards and B&G Foods' base business."
Cohen said, "We believe that our experience in the club channel and in developing on trend, innovative products combined with B&G Foods' seasoned management team, sales force and impressive portfolio of brands will result in continued growth for Rickland Orchards and incremental sales for B&G Foods' existing brands."
