At 10:18 am, November 20, along with the sonorous piling sound of "dang, dang, dang", Baosteel Ltd. BNA's new No.4 GA line started production officially. After being put into production in 2015, the line will add 420,000t of high grade hot-dip galvanized sheet and high strength steel to the company every year, and will further enhance the market competitiveness of the company's products.
In recent years, the automobile manufacturing industry strode towards lightweight, and high strength automotive sheets have been much favored, among which, the ultra-high strength automotive sheet has become the most competitive product. It is learnt that No.4 GA line is dedicated to the production of 100 kg grade high strength steel automotive sheets and the automotive exposed panels with high surface quality requirements. Its construction will fill the blank in BNA's production capacity for over 80 kg high strength steel GA products, and be complementary to Baosteel's other continuous galvanizing lines in terms of varieties and specifications, to satisfy the demand for automotive sheets of different levels and different varieties in an overall way, and greatly enhance the market competitiveness of Baosteel's automotive sheet products.
On the piling field, the construction site is bustling with bulldozers and earthwork trucks coming to and fro. The relevant units including Baosteel Ltd. Investment Management Dept., Engineering Management Dept., Engineering Equipment Dept., Materials and Spare Parts Purchase Dept., as well as the equipment designer Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation, plant designer Baosteel Engineering, constructor Puyan Construction and Installation Co., Ltd., the owner BNA attended the brief piling ceremony. According to the introduction by the project principal of BNA, the project is the first construction project undertaken by BNA, and BNA has formulated strict management program and measures in project safety management and construction management. Now the ground levelling has been basically completed, and the project will enter the intense construction stage. Each party participating in the construction will coordinately in a concerted way to overcome the difficulties such as short construction period and heavy task, to ensure the construction to be carried out in an orderly way.
