Japanese vehicle manufacturer Honda will recall about 157 vehicles of 2012-Civic models in the US due to the problem in the steering column.
A series steering column tilt brackets designed for use in 2013-Civic vehicles were mistakenly installed in few 2012-Civic vehicles.
According to the company, the brackets would affect the crash performance of the 2012 model vehicles and the problem was discovered during the quality checks.
No cases of damage or injury have been reported yet,the company claims.
The owners of the affected vehicles are to be informed by the company through mail in December 2012.
Earlier in October 2012,the automaker had recalled over 820,000 Civic compact cars and Pilot sport utility vehicles(SUVs)due to a headlight problem across the US.
