LLamasoft, a US-based supply chain software solutions provider, has unveiled an updated 8.0 release of Supply Chain Guru and Transportation Guru supply chain and transportation network design software.
According the company, the new enhancements help its businesses tackle inventory levels and goals, as well as lower transportation costs.
Inventory Guru is an optimization tool within Supply Chain Guru 8.0 that allows companies to analyze all the aspects of inventory for the existing and new supply chain structures, to achieve higher revenue and lower carrying costs.
Multi-objective optimization provides insight into any two of 19 available objectives and allows customers to meet business challenges, while the service-area mapping service distance to various geographic regions using actual street-level data.
Available as part of the vehicle route optimization module, the Transportation backhaul optimization tool identifies the efficient inbound pick-ups based on the last stop of the outbound route to reduce the overall costs.
