Ajinomoto Brazil, a subsidiary of Japanese ingredients company Ajinomoto, has completed the expansion of its Limeira facility in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The company announced the BRL47m ($19.6m) investment in 2012 to substantially expand its existing facility and increase production capacity for Brazil's leading flavor seasonings brand TEMPERO Sazón.
The expansion project involved installation of packaging, blending and automated measurement equipment, pneumatic conveyor, silo for main raw materials, etc. The project has increased the production capacity at the plant by 40% enabling the company to meet the increasing demand and to further expand its business in Argentina, Chile and elsewhere in South America, in addition to Brazil.
Since its launch in 1988, TEMPERO Sazón has gained acceptance among consumers in Brazil. The product is available in nine varieties for different applications.
Ajinomoto is a global manufacturer of seasonings, processed foods, beverages, amino acids, pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals.
