Vetta to Introduce High-Fibre Pasta Range in UK

Vetta is planning to introduce its range of high fibre pasta in the UK, a bid to tap the growing demand for healthy alternatives.

The Vetta High Fibre pasta range is a low-GI and naturally low in fat content. It will be available in four variants - Penne, Fusilli, Spaghetti and Fettuccine.

Produced by Australian company Rinoldi, the pasta range from Vetta is claimed to look and taste similar to that of regular pasta.

Vetta said that its pasta is well-suited for those monitoring their blood glucose levels or seeking to include low-GI foods in their diets.

Vetta European managing director Mark Perrin was quoted by New Food Magazine as saying: "When most people think of high-fibre it is often associated with wholegrain, thick, heavy products that are nutritionally beneficial yet less appealing in taste; the Vetta range is created using authentic Italian pasta making techniques and provides an easy way to increase fibre intake without altering the taste or eating experience.

"This also makes it a great way for parents to increase their child's fibre intake, without the added stress of trying to change what they eat."

The product launch is being driven by social media campaigning and targeted outreach to create enough buzz to spike up the demand.

Other products of Vetta that are yet to be introduced in the UK are High Protein Low Carb, Cholesterol Lowering, and Hidden Veg with Peas & Corn, reported International Supermarket News.

Nutrition experts opine that a diet high in fibre may not only help in lowering the risk of heart disease and diabetes but help in maintaining and aiding weight loss, and controlling irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and digestive irregularities.
