US-based King Arthur Flour is voluntary recalling certain bags of flour as they may contain small blue polyurethane balls that are used in the sifting process, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The products subject to the recall include 5lb. bags of King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour bearing UPC code 0-71012-01050-9; best used by date and lot codes - 12/26/2013, L12A26B; 12/26/2013, L12A26C; 12/27/2013, L12A27A; 01/18/2014, A13A18A; 01/18/2014, A13A18B; 01/21/2014, A13A21A; 01/22/2014, A13A22B; 01/30/2014, A13A30A; and 01/31/2014, A13A31A.
The recalled products also include King Arthur Unbleached Bread Flour with UPC 0-71012-04105-3; best used by date and lot codes -12/26/2013, L12A26A; 12/26/2013, L12A26B; 01/03/2014, A13A03A; 01/03/2014, A13A03B; 01/16/2014, A13A16B; 01/17/2014, A13A17A; 01/23/2014, A13A23A; 01/28/2014, A13A28A; and 01/31/2014, A13A31A.
There have been no reported injuries, ingestion or presence of any of these balls from our customers to date. No other lot codes of this product or any other King Arthur Flour products are affected by the recall.
Customers are advised to return any products with a combination of the best used by and lot codes mentioned above.
