FORT WORTH,Texas—Retailer Pier 1 Imports has launched its upgraded website that allows consumers to order merchandise to be delivered to their home or another location of their choosing.
The company said the site at www.pier1.com allows for easier navigation while maintaining the"treasure hunt"feel of its bricks-and-mortar stores.
"We are extremely delighted with the successful launch of our new e-commerce enabled website,which allows customers to shop our unique array of merchandise while selecting the shipping destination of their choice,"said Alex Smith,president and CEO.
He said the newest feature,named Pier 1 To You,enhances the Pier 1 To Go program launched in June 2011.That program allows consumers to order merchandise online for pickup at their local Pier 1 store without incurring shipping charges.
