Sheetfed offset printing presses manufacturer KBA-Sheetfed has partnered with specialty chemicals group Altana’s subsidiary Actega Coatings & Sealants in the field of inline finishing.
The partnership will ensure the availability of high-quality coating systems for KBA's high-performance sheetfed offset presses.
KBA said in a statement: “Already during commissioning, the use of correspondingly approved products under uniform conditions will serve to establish application standards. This, in turn, will safeguard both outstanding finishing quality and high performance in the inline coating process.”
The cooperation is expected to boost the two firms’ existing partnership while placing activities on an even higher, strategic level, the company said.
At global level, KBA and Actega plan to undertake joint product and sales training, print demonstrations at KBA fairs and at customer events.
Additional plans include development of starter kits to be supplied with new presses, and continuous further development of the products concerned.
As part of this effort, regular tests will be carried out on the Rapida presses, which are installed at the KBA customer centre.
KBA-Sheetfed and Actega are already working on joint projects including annual Actega-Terra calendar and user-oriented marketing activities.
Actega is engaged in developing and producing specialty coatings, printing inks, sealants, compounds and adhesives for the packaging and graphic arts industry.
