Xerox CFO Luca Maestri(pictured)is swapping the world of photocopiers for iPads,as he prepares to leave the company to join Apple as corporate controller.
Maestri will start work at the iPhone and iPad producer on 28 February.He joined Xerox in February 2011 after previously working as CFO of Nokia Siemens Networks.Maestri will replace Betsy Rafael,who retired from the firm in October.
"Luca is a stellar finance executive whose contributions have brought great value to the transformation of Xerox into a services enterprise,"said Ursula Burns,Xerox chairman and CEO.
"He's helped strengthen our financial foundation,which will serve his successor,our company and our shareholders well for the long term."
Maestri added he believes Xerox can build on its current position in the industry.
"I came to Xerox with a strong belief in its strategic direction and I leave with even greater confidence in the company's rich opportunity as a leader in outsourcing services and document technology,"he said.
"It's been an incredible learning experience to be part of this major business shift for such a respected brand.I'm proud of our progress,and I know Xerox is on very firm footing for sustainable success."
Maestri is staying with the company through to the end of February to help it manage the transition to a new CFO.Xerox has already started an external search for someone to fill the vacant position.
