Things are looking up for people who are always looking down at their Kindle?, iPad?, iPhone?, and Galaxy? devices.
The Smart-Mount is an ultra-portable hands-free mount that allows users to quickly and easily set up a secure ergonomic stand for their tablet or smartphone using camera tripods and other photography accessories. "Wherever you want to watch movies, read ebooks, capture high resolution photography, or record stabilized high definition video, you can conveniently carry and quickly set up the hands-free mount for on-the-go use," said Kurt Woolford, inventor of Smart-Mount.
Woolford invented the mount after his search for a universal ergonomic solution to conveniently use with his tablets and smartphones was a real pain in the neck. He set out to develop a gadget with a design focus from the research of a recent collaborative study by the Harvard School of Public Health, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Microsoft.
What did Harvard and Microsoft say that changed everything? The tablet ergonomic study found that tablet users may be at risk to develop discomfort associated with pain in the neck and shoulders or musculoskeletal disorders based on behaviors driven by the limitation of tablet computers. The study suggests that head and neck posture can be improved through designs that provide higher elevation with steeper angle settings of the device to allow for optimal viewing.
"Finally, the last mount I will ever have to buy!" replied J.P., a recent customer. With Smart-Mount, users set a self-adhesive belt clip onto a separate plastic case that fits their specific device. The clip rotates to allow users to switch their devices between portrait and landscape orientation. An adapter securely locks into the clip and includes a universal threaded insert for use with camera tripods and other photography accessories. Users can quickly and easily attach and detach their device using the adapter.
