Honda Cars India (HCIL) has recalled a total of 31,226 units of certain variants of the Amaze compact sedan and Brio hatchback over a potential defect in the brake system.
The recall affects 15,623 units of Honda Brio hatchback and 15,603 units of the Amaze sedan manufactured from 28 February 2013 to 13 January 2014 in India.
According to the company, the recall affects the vehicles equipped with the non-ABS in these two models and the Amaze diesel is not included in this inspection.
These vehicles are suspected to have an improper assembly of the proportioning valve, which adjusts brake distribution pressure to the wheels.
Under the recall, the carmaker will replace the proportioning valve voluntarily after inspection.
The company has claimed that no reports or complaints related to this part have been filed.
