The Canadian timber group Interfor aims to take over the Wood Products Business division of Rayonier for around US$80m. The deal essentially includes the three Rayonier sawmills in Georgia, USA, which boast a combined capacity of 360 million bdft per year. The take-over is subject to approval by the relevant cartel authorities and expected to close in late February or early March 2013.
