Eco-friendly vehicles distributor Green Automotive (GAC) is set to acquire American composite materials manufacturer Blackhawk Manufacturing in an agreement.
Blackhawk manufactures composite materials at its two plants in Bloomington, California and Tijuana, Mexico.
It also produces custom parts using open mold thermoforming, injected urethane and resin infusion techniques for customers across the US and South America.
Green Automotive CEO Ian Hobday said that Blackhawk has been supplying their Newport Coachworks business since they started.
"The vertical integration of the Blackhawk business into Green Automotive secures our supply chain, offers new growth opportunities, brings skilled management to the team and provides us with room to expand as our business continues to grow," Hobday added.
"Several parts of the GAC business will benefit from the facilities that Blackhawk provides, and in addition we also anticipate good growth from their operations through the acquisition of new clients."
