US-based Narragansett Brewing has introduced a new beer called Imperial Black Steam to its Private Stock series.
Brew Master Sean Larkin has brewed the new beer by using choice malts, Northern Brewers hops, a San Francisco lager yeast and fermented at 68 degrees to increase the natural esters of fermentation.
Imperial Black Steam includes the aromas of chocolate, raisin and plum, as well as hints of black current.
The new American heritage-style beer comes with 9% ABV and 30 IBUs and is available in 22oz bottles and on draft for a limited time at selected retailers.
The brewery produces year-round beers such as Lager, Light and Cream, as well as seasonals like Fest, Porter, Bock and Summer.
