Monday, January 20, 2014: Artisan House of California, designers and crafters of unique, fine-quality metal sculptures, is pleased to announce the company’s 50th anniversary in 2014. In honor of this remarkable milestone, the company has grand plans for celebrating throughout the year.
"For the past five decades, Artisan House has defined and set the standard for metal sculptures in the home furnishings industry,” said John Shilling, president and CEO of Artisan House.
Shilling adds, “In 1964, Jerry Fels and Kurt Freiler, the founders of Artisan House, developed and launched a unique line of products. This company was a natural progression from the jewelry manufacturing company they had previously established. It was at that time, the two gentlemen decided to use the ‘nome de plume’ of C. Jeré to promote the cutting-edge design and execution of the brilliant new line.”
Today, the C. Jeré signature is recognized worldwide as the iconic symbol of Mid-Century Modern sculpture design and is sought after by many fine art collectors.
Artisan House reintroduced a collection of “C. Jeré Classics” in 2013, bringing back timeless designs from the early years. The resurgence of these select pieces makes them available for an entirely new generation, to enjoy for years to come.
“This will be our biggest and most exciting year ever, in terms of product releases,” said Sam Schwartz, vice president of sales and design. “Not only will we be adding more pieces to the ‘C. JeréClassics’ series, but we are also introducing a healthy offering of our ‘Gallery Collection,” featuring original artwork crafted in our California studio.”
“Artisan House is also expanding other collections this year, including additions to the ‘C. Jeré Exclusive’ series. In addition, the company will launch a new line of mirrors and accent furniture later this year,” adds Schwartz.
