Italian sports car manufacturer Lamborghini has introduced its new open-top version, called Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, at the 2013 Geneva motor show in Switzerland.
The company will produce only nine units of this model, which is based on the company's Aventador car. Work on the new version units will start during the course of 2014.
Equipped with a 6.5l V12 engine, the new Veneno Roadster features a 740bhp unit, which is integrated to a seven-speed ISR transmission; a racing chassis with pushrod suspension and horizontal spring and damper units. It has a top speed of 221mph with an acceleration of 0-62mph in a time of 2.9sec.
Lamborghini claims that the entire front end acts as an aerodynamic wing to provide optimum airflow and downforce at speed. A smooth underbody also helps to reduce drag, while the rear diffuser accommodates four large exhaust pipes.
To deliver cooling air to the carbon-ceramic brake discs, the bespoke alloy wheels are equipped with a carbon-fiber ring.
