Thai Union Frozen Products, along with the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, opened its first Global Innovation Incubator (GII) for Thai Union group.
The move forms a part of the company's strategy to grow its business and develop value-added products.
The company has invested around THB100m ($3m) in the incubator, which will primarily focus on the development of research and studies of technology for tuna and seafood-related products.
It will also work as a central network and a global exchange hub of R&D data and technology transfer amongst scientists within the Thai Union Group.
Thai Union Frozen Products manufactures and exports frozen and canned seafood products in Thailand and internationally.
The company's products include canned and frozen tunas, frozen shrimps, salmons, sardines and mackerels, cephalopods, and other seafood products, as well as ready-to-eat, bakery, and wet and dry pet food products.
