Westag & Getalit Was Confronted Again for The First Time by a 4.8% Decline

In the first quarter of 2013, following a long period of consistently positive development, Westag & Getalit was confronted again for the first time by a 4.8% decline in turnover to €27.5m in the doors/door frames division. The company believes reticence on account of the weather in the building trade as well as the disappointing development on the export markets are the reasons for this development. The negative weather influences were reflected in an even more serious decline of 11.8% in the plywood/formwork division to €6.7m. Turnover in the laminates/elements division, at €19.4m remained at the same level as last year on account of continuing stability in domestic business. Thus total turnover, as already announced in the ad hoc communiqué of 29 April, dropped by 4.1% to €55.1m.
