Huawei, an information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has unveiled a series of telematics products at the ongoing 2013 Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, Spain.
The products that offer wireless applications for vehicle include MU609T, ME909T, DA6810, and 3G onboard diagnostic (OBD) box, DA3100.
Huawei's 3G and LTE communication modules for vehicles include the MU609T that is claimed to support up to 14.4M under the HSPA+ network and the ME909T can support up to 100Mbps under the LTE network, while both the products come with pre-installed GPS and eCall.
Both the products have ability to upgrade with the FOTA remote firmwire.
Following installation, the DA6810 3G WiFi Box provides the vehicle owners with a high-speed internet and audio-visual entertainment experience.
Information of the vehicle including its location, vehicle conditions and driver habits can be obtained with the DA3100, an on-board diagnistics (OBD) data transferring system.
The product uses 3G network to send the information to the telematics service provider (TSP) and also allows the vehicle owners to activate the car horn, headlights and windows through smartphone apps.
