US based automobile manufacturer Chrysler has unveiled the 2014 Ram 1500, the revamped version of its pick-up truck in the home market.
The vehicle is powered by the new 3L V6 dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) EcoDiesel engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that generates an output of 240bhp and 420lbft (568Nm) of torque.
Chrysler is also planning to make the vehicle available with the 3.6L V6 engine and the 5.7L Hemi V8 engine with Torqueflite eight speed transmission.
The new vehicle comes with a new front park assist system that is claimed to detect objects placed at a distance of about 47.2 inches from the vehicle.
The 2014 Ram 1500 is also equipped with a variable displacement air compressor and a pulse-width modulation blower that help to reduce parasitic engine loss in order to improve fuel efficiency.
Earlier, the manufacturer had jointly opened a new parts distribution center in Pretoria, South Africa with Fiat under the automotive parts supplier brand Mopar.
