A solid performance by its stationery division has helped New Zealand's largest listed retailer, The Warehouse Group, boost sales by 1.9 per cent in the first quarter.
Warehouse Stationery saw like-for-like sales increase 3.7 per cent in its first quarter with revenue up 9.1 per cent to NZ$51.6 million.
The Warehouse Group CEO Mark Powell said technology and communications products were the key sales drivers for its stationery arm during the three-month period.
Three new Warehouse Stationery stores opened in the quarter at Warkworth, Royal Oak and Silverdale, bringing the total number of outlets to 59.
Total Q1 sales at The Warehouse Group were slightly up on the same period last year to NZ$414 million.
