American vehicle manufacturer General Motors (GM) has issued a voluntary recall of 18,941 vehicles of certain model year 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Coupes over concerns that the required air bag warning label on the sun visor may peel off.
The required air bag warning label on the sun visor may peel off in the recalled vehicles. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 208, Occupant Crash Protection.
Driver and front seat passenger may not be warned of the risks of air bag deployment due to this problem, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Dealers of the company will replace the sun visor, free of charge. GM will notify owners of the recalled vehicles and will instruct them how to inspect the visor sticker.
Earlier this month, GM has received regulatory approvals to restart the production of its MUV Tavera in India.
Vehicles that are to be produced under the approval are BS III 7,8,9 and 10 seaters. However, the approval for BS IV models is still under process.
