Royal Philips Electronics Will Light Six of The Eight Stadiums

Philips has installed an LED lighting system for the fa?ade of Poznan City stadium

Royal Philips Electronics has announced it will light six of the eight stadiums used for this summer's European football championship in Poland and Ukraine.

The Dutch giant has installed systems,including pitch and fa?ade lighting,at Donbass Arena,Metalist stadium,Arena Lviv,Poznan City stadium,Municipal stadium Wroclaw and the Olympic stadium in Kiev.

The lighting for Kiev Olympic stadium includes 608 Philips ArenaVision sport floodlights.Philips designed the lighting concept to create the illusion of a'ring of fire'on the stadium's roof edge.

For the Poznan stadium,195 Philips LED projectors,a control system and software was used to light the fa?ade of the building.The use of an LED lighting system for the stadium's external illumination allows dynamic colour changes that can help build emotion and welcome fans with a projection of their team's colours.

Eric Rondolat,the recently appointed Philips Lighting CEO,said:"Philips and sports lighting have been a winning combination for a long time and with our world leadership in energy-efficient lighting solutions we will continue to build on that relationship."
