British luxury car maker Jaguar Land Rover has started a new business division, the Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations, which will focus on addressing the requirements of its current car customers.
The new division will focus on designing and engineering high specification vehicles, tailored commissions, heritage products and branded goods for the company.
Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations will be led by John Edwards and offer high specification vehicles with high performance derivatives and limited run collector editions, bespoke commissions and an extended choice of color as well as trim specifications and accessories.
The division will also produce heritage products including vehicle recreations, servicing and restorations as well as vehicle parts.
Jaguar Land Rover chief executive Ralf Speth said, "This investment in exciting and desirable products will reinforce the global reputation of both Jaguar and Land Rover brands."
Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations managing director John Edwards said: "As a business, we are completely focused on enhancing and personalising the relationship our most discerning and enthusiastic customers have with our brands."
The new division will include a team of designers and engineers led by Special Vehicle Operations director Paul Newsome and work to create halo vehicles ranging from high luxury to extreme performance.
Jaguar Land Rover is also planning to invest in a new dedicated Technical Centre, which will be located in the West Midlands area of the UK, to support the delivery of new products.
The new Technical Centre will include a team of 150 Jaguar Land Rover specialists and facilities like a customer commissioning suite for bespoke services and premium vehicle personalisation, Formula 1-inspired flexible workshops and a fully automated paint facility.
