Japanese carmaker Nissan has partnered with FedEx Express to conduct field tests for its e-NV200 commercial electric vehicle (EV) in Singapore.
Under the partnership, the carmaker will supply an e-NV200 vehicle to the FedEx Express to conduct the test by using it as a delivery vehicle in the city for one month.
The vehicle's ability to supply the international air cargo will be assessed by both the companies after one month and the evaluation will be used in future development of the model.
In the last fall, both the companies announced field testing program at the Hannover Motor Show in Germany, as a part of which the road test will be conducted.
The vehicle was tested by both the companies in the UK and Japan, and will also be tested in other countries, including Brazil and the US after completion in Singapore.
Scheduled to be launched in 2014, the electric e-NV200 commercial vehicle is the second EV model that will be made available across the globe, after the Nissan LEAF.
