Barcelona-based Catalan fashion management firm Ultra Cinco has acquired the operating license of the French-Spanish apparel brand Buenos Liberto, which ceased manufacturing in 2006, and would be re-launching the brand in the Spanish market with a new spring-summer menswear collection.
The apparel brand, which was highly popular in the Spanish market during the 80’s till the early 2000s, would be re-launched with the help of the Catalan firm through a new website that would be created for the brand and would be marketed through various major online specialty stores.
The first collection of Buenos Liberto to be launched in Spain is focused completely on denim wear, including pants and shirts for men, but the firm would also be launching the brand’s womenswear autumn-winter collection later during the year.
Buenos Liberto is a French-Spanish clothing brand founded in 1976, and entered the Spanish market in 1984, mainly selling jeans and then later on diversifying into manufacturing shirts, blouses, skirts, jackets and more.
In 2006, the clothing brand’s main factory in the village of Vidreres located in the Spanish province of Girona closed down and ceased operations, due to incurring major losses, despite selling over 1.5 million garments annually.
Founded in 1999, Ultra Cinco is a Catalan fashion management firm, specializing in brand management, design, marketing and communication, for various apparel brands in Spain.
