Japan's Steel Wire Exports Falling by 6.2% From a Month Ago But Surging by 70.2% Y-O-Y

According to data, Japan’s exports of steel wire products totaled 58,094 tons in September, falling by 6.2% from a month ago but surging by 70.2% year on year.

The export prices of steel wire products averaged at US$786.1/ton FOB, down by 0.4% month on month and decreasing by 14.7% year on year.

Among them, 18,463 tons were exports to China, up by 7% from August. The export prices averaged at US$811.7/ton, decreasing by 0.2% month on month.

The exports made to Korea totaled 11,372 tons, rising by 12.3% month on month. The export prices averaged at US$738.4/ton FOB, falling by 3.4% from August.

Meanwhile, the US was the third largest importer of Japanese steel wire products in September with 7,745 tons, falling by 16.2% month on month. The export prices averaged at US$861.2/ton FOB, decreasing by 1.2% from the previous month.
