LG Display announced the earnings of the fourth quarter in December 31 2012. The report showed that due to the decline in demand for Apple iPad and appreciation of the won, LG Display’s quarter net profit of 319.7 billion won (about299 million dollars ), less than the average analysts’ expectations.
The fourth quarter of 2012, LG Displays’ revenue grew 5% year on year, to 8.7 trillion won and net profit of 319.7 billion won, and 22 analysts in a Bloomberg survey on average expected that the company net profit of 363.4 billion won. LG Display lost 6 billion won last year.
LG Display said in the announcement that the fourth quarter of the company's operating profit has almost doubled, to 587 billion won, while the same period last year was a loss.
