According to data released by China’s Customs, China’s exports of welded pipes in January increased by 20% from a month ago, driven by a rebound in shipments of oil and gas line pipes.
The country’s welded pipe exports reached 335,948 tons in January, up by 20% compared to the last December’s 280,698 tons.
Meanwhile, welded oil and gas line pipes accounted for 46% of the January export total and up by 24% month-on-month to reach 153,358 tons.
However, the country’s monthly total consumption increases by 3% compared to the same month last year while shipments declined in January 2012 due to the Spring Festival holidays during that month.
China’s welded pipe exports expect to improve this year and there will continue to focus on market such as Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Singapore, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia.
