In October this year, the China HSBC Flash Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) increased to 50.4 - the highest level of the past three months - higher than the anticipated level of 50.2 and up from September's final reading of 50.2, as announced by the HSBC on October 23.
Hongbin Qu, the HSBC's chief economist for China, said that Chinese manufacturing in October has continued to suffer from sluggish demand. He added that more measures are needed in order to regulate the economy.
