Ukraine Registered a 2.5 Percent Increase in Its Finished Steel Product Output

In the first four months of the current year, Ukraine registered a 2.5 percent increase in its finished steel product output to 9.280 million mt, a 0.6 percent decrease in its crude steel output to 11.058 million mt and a 0.7 percent rise in its pig iron production to 9.670 million mt, all year on year, according to the data issued by Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers.

The country's production of metallurgical coke in the given period went down by 9.2 percent year on year to 5.879 million mt.

In the January-April period this year, Ukraine produced 22.877 million mt of iron ore concentrate and 7.528 million mt of iron ore pellets - up 3.3 percent and one percent respectively compared to the same period last year.

In April alone, Ukraine produced 2.748 million mt of crude steel - down 4.3 percent, 2.257 million mt of finished steel products - down two percent, and 1.447 million mt of metallurgical coke - down 4.8 percent, all on month-on-month basis.
