West African Resources has extended the shallow copper and gold mineralization at its Sartenga Prospect in Burkina Faso through its latest drilling.
Aircore drilling has confirmed the mineralization now extends more than 500 meters in width on Section 5 while a number of holes have ended in transitional mineralization indicating the deeper drilling may deliver further zones of parallel primary mineralization.
Significant results include a hole with assay of 63 meters at 0.4 grams per tonne gold and 0.2% copper and 65 gram per tonne molybdenum from surface ending in 3 meters at 1.4 gram per tonne gold, 0.5% copper and 11 gram per tonne molybdenum.
In Section 8, which was also subject to drilling, mineralization has been intersected over 350 meter width. Results included a 25 meter intercept at 0.4 gram per tonne gold and 0.4% copper from 36 meters including 5 meters at 1.1 gram per tonne gold and 0.5% copper from 40 meters ending in mineralization.
