Dubai's Ship Building Unit Drydocks World Has Won a Multi Million Contract

Trade Arabia reported that Dubai's ship building unit Drydocks World has won a multi million contract from leading oil exploration and production company Premier Oil to build a subsea facility for Solan oil field located on the UK continental shelf west of Shetland.

 

A leading service provider to the global maritime and offshore oil and gas industry Drydocks World said that the facility will be built for the field being operated by Chrysaor a company engaged in developing and commercializing oil and gas discoveries in the North Sea and Ireland.

The subsea oil tank was an essential component of a significant project, the Solan field, which is a future prospective resource of the UK. Mr Simon Lockett CEO of Premier Oil said that having awarded the contract for the construction of the subsea oil storage tank to Drydocks World. The subsea tank will constitute a critical component of the Solan field development and we look forward to working closely with Drydocks World to deliver the contracted works safely, on schedule and within budget.
