CSC Is Going to Release Its List Prices for EF Al-Killed Wire Rods for June

China Steel Corp. (CSC), the largest carbon steelmaker in Taiwan is going to release its list prices for electric furnace (EF) Al-killed wire rods for June. Industry sources predicted that CSC might cut its list prices for EF Al-killed wire rods for June due to lower raw material prices, decrease prices of steel wires offered by China and bad performance of the Taiwanese screw makers in export markets.

The Taiwanese screw makers’ received order volumes from foreign buyers have decreased by around 15% recently. Besides, the prices of raw materials such as iron ores and scraps have dropped recently. At present, the spot iron ore prices have decreased by US$12/ton to US$132/ton C&F. The Chinese steelmakers’ export quotes of boron-added wire rods to southeast Asia have fallen by around US$80/ton to US$610~US$620/ton Meanwhile, CSC remained its list prices for EF Al-killed wire rods unchanged at NT$22,000/ton for May and the actual selling prices were at NT$21,200~NT$21,700/ton.
