China's gross domestic product (GDP) indicated a year-on-year increase of 7.4 percent to RMB 12.8213 trillion ($2.1 trillion) in the first quarter of the current year, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on April 16.
In the quarter in question, China's domestic primary industry, secondary industry and tertiary industry respectively contributed RMB 777.6 billion ($126.9 billion), RMB 5.7587 trillion ($0.94 trillion) and RMB 6.285 trillion ($1.03 trillion) to the country's GDP, up 3.5 percent, 7.3 percent and 7.8 percent respectively on year-on-year basis.
