Taiwan's Industrial Production Index in October This Year Climbed by 4.56%

According to the country's Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan's industrial production index in October this year climbed by 4.56% as compared to October 2011, after rising by a revised 2.88% year on year in September and was down 1.2% MOM. In October, Taiwan's monthly industrial output increased for the fourth straight month on year on year basis.

In October this year, industrial output in basic metal manufacturing decreased by 6.3% and output of metal product manufacturing surged by 0.4%, both compared with October 2011. The respective month on month increase rates were registered at 11.5% and 5.2%

Meanwhile, in October, production in Taiwan's machinery and equipment industry fell by 8.7%, output in the automotive industry increased by 4.4%, while production in the Taiwanese construction sector increased by 20.9% all compared to October 2011.
