According to the statistics provided by the Turkish Steel Pipe Manufacturers Association (CEBID), in February this year Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 157,275 metric tons, decreasing by 3.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and up 28.9 percent compared to January. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $141 million, falling 10.5 percent compared to February 2012 and up 22.1 percent month on month.
According to CEBID, the slight declining year-on-year trend observed in January this year continued in February, with steel pipe exports in the first two months of the year totaling 280 million mt, declining by 2.5 percent on year-on-year basis. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $256.5 million, falling 6.1 percent compared to January-February 2011.
In the first two months of this year, Turkey's biggest destinations for its steel pipe exports were Iraq, Algeria and the UK.
