According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the January-August period of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy exports amounted to a value of €6.28 billion, increasing by two percent year on year.
During the period in question, France exported €1.34 billion of steel pipes and tubes - down 2.4 percent, €329.07 million of cold rolled steel strip - up 1.8 percent, €248.01 million of cold drawn wire - up 0.7 percent, €216.28 million of cold rolled steel bars - down 3.8 percent, €466.43 million of metal structures and parts - up 22.8 percent, all compared to January-August 2013.
Meanwhile, in the January-August period of this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports totaled €5.47 billion, down 3.7 percent year on year.
During the given period, France imported €1.04 billion of steel pipes and tubes - down 7.2 percent, €403.18 million of cold rolled steel strip - up 4.4 percent, €254.53 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 2.7 percent, €229.88 million of cold drawn wire - down 1.3 percent, and €959.67 million of metal structures and parts - up 12.1 percent, all compared to the same period of the previous year.
