B&T Steel Will Upgrade The Company's Two Light and Heavy Gauge Cut to Length Lines

The investment at B&T Steel a unit of Mississauga based Russel Metals Inc, will upgrade the company's two light and heavy gauge cut to length lines with new equipment to stretch and level coiled steel to suit customers' demands.

The new equipment will be installed in two phases, starting with the light gauge line in early 2013 immediately followed by the heavy gauge line in mid 2013.

In a news release Mr John Reid, vice president for operations service centres said that "This investment in value added capabilities reinforces our commitment to our customers' needs for improved flatness tolerances and superior service. We look forward to continued growth with all of our business partners."

Russel Metals is one of the largest metals distribution companies in North America. It carries on business in three metals distribution segments: metals service centres, energy tubular products and steel distributors, under various names including Russel Metals, AJ Forsyth, Alberta Industrial Metals, Apex Distribution, B&T Steel, Leroux Steel, McCabe Steel and others.
