Japanese Sasaki and Hakata Have Decided to Use a Resource Saving Duplex Stainless Steel

Reportedly, Japanese shipbuilders Sasaki Shipbuilding Co Ltd. (Sasaki) and Hakata Shipbuilding Co Ltd. (Hakata) for the first time in Japan, have decided to use a resource saving type duplex stainless steel, NSSC®2120, of Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel Corporation for the construction of their respective chemical and oil tankers.

The reason that drives Sasaki and Hakata to choose NSSC®2120 for their tankers is the high performance and great economy obtainable from this stainless steel, which has been increasingly used around the world for the chemical tankers in recent years.
