I. The Sales Prices of Newly Constructed Residential Buildings (excluding affordable housing)
Comparing with the previous month, among 70 medium and large-sized cities, the sales prices of newly constructed residential buildings declined in 17 cities while that of 18 cities remained at the same level. For 35 cities with increasing prices month-on-month, the increases were within 0.5 percent.
Comparing with the same month of last year, the sales prices of newly constructed residential buildings decreased in 56 cities, while that of 2 cities remained at the same level. For 12 cities with increasing prices year-on-year, the increases were within 1.5 percent. In October, for the cities with increasing prices year-on-year, the increases of 1 city fell down compared with that in September.
II. Sales Prices of Second-Hand Residential Buildings
Comparing with the previous month, the sales prices of second-hand residential buildings decreased in 18 cities, while that of 20 cities remained at the same level. For 32 cities with increasing prices month-on-month, the increases were within 0.8 percent.
Comparing with the same month of last year, the sales prices of second-hand residential buildings decreased in 55 cities, that of 15 cities increased, and the growth rates were within 4.2 percent year-on-year. In October, for the cities with increasing prices year-on-year, the increases of 2 cities fell down compared with that in September.

1. Since January 2011, NBS started to implement “Survey Program on Sales Prices of Residential Buildings”.
2. Survey Coverage: The survey was conducted in the municipal districts of 70 medium and large-sized cities, excluding the countries.
3. Survey Methods: The data of sales price, floor space and amount of money directly came from the network transaction records data of local real estate management departments. The survey of sales prices of second-hand residential buildings was non-overall survey, integrating key-point investigation with typical investigation, combing the methods of real estate brokerage agency reporting, real estate management departments providing, as well as investigator obtaining prices on the spot, to collect the basic data.
4. The newly constructed residential buildings includes affordable housing, the newly constructed commercial residential buildings excludes affordable housing.
