When “Great Gatsby” costume designer and Oscar winner Catherine Martin looked for design inspiration for Baz Luhrmann’s film adaptation, she went no further than Brooks Brothers.
A favorite of Gatsby author, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Martin says, “Brooks Brothers is mentioned several times in Fitzgerald’s writings as a representation of the ultimate gentleman’s purveyor of fine clothing to the American man of distinction.”
Pouring through the Brooks Brothers archives, Martin designed the costumes for the film generating a separate collection for the brand, inspired by the designs seen in the movie.
Including pale pink suits, white buckskin shoes, canes, straw boating hats and the like, the Brooks Brothers Great Gatsby Collection also proudly features Supima Cotton slim fit golf oxford shirts, button down oxfords, French cuff broadcloth shirts as well as two iron-free, slim fit dress shirts
