Brazil's Motor Vehicle Output in January This Year Increased by 7.7 Percent

Brazil's motor vehicle output in January this year increased by 7.7 percent from the previous month to 279,300 units, according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). Brazil's motor vehicle output was up by 39.1 percent in January from the same month last year.

According to the report, total new motor vehicle registrations in Brazil amounted to 311,453 units in January this year, decreasing 13.3 percent from December last year and up 16.1 percent year on year. 21.8 percent of this figure consisted of imported new vehicles.

Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in January this year totaled 36,232 units, with a 12 percent decrease from the previous month and up 9.5 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports came to $1 billion, decreasing by 5.4 percent month on month and down 6.1 percent compared to the first month of 2012.
